Support for existing buildings and new design decisions
Beigman's work includes existing buildings subject to building notices or orders, office fit-outs and changes of use. These projects often involve working within the limits of an existing building while assessing the proposed use, layout and fire safety arrangements.
Other areas of work include independent peer review, residential carparks with electric vehicle charging, and fire engineering advice for carports, verandahs and decks near boundaries. Each enquiry is reviewed to establish the appropriate scope.
From initial advice through to delivery
An engagement may begin with a Fire Engineering Memorandum identifying the matters a project needs to consider. Larger commissions can include fire engineering briefs and reports, consultation with the project team and relevant authorities, and construction-stage support.
Reza's background in aerodynamic fluid mechanics informs his analytical approach. Fire and smoke modelling and evacuation analysis are used where they are appropriate to the question being assessed.
Professional background and project experience
Reza is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), is listed on the National Engineering Register (NER), and holds DFFH accreditation. He has advised on healthcare, commercial, education and residential buildings.
He is registered in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania.
Beigman's own projects to date have been in Victoria. Reza also brings experience from previous employment, including work outside Victoria. Projects undertaken for previous employers are identified separately from commissions delivered by Beigman.
